understood that colonies who had similar interests yet were divided in certain areas of their beliefs had a fragile footing on which to base their new nation. Yet for the betterment of the nation the thirteen colonies found it in their best interest to form an alliance against British Sovereignty.

Ronald Reagan believed that a firm conservative base was necessary and should be unyielding with regards to its principles. Reagan also was seen as a consensus builder who brought the many sides of the debate together. How can these two diametrically differing points be reconciled? Simply put, Reagan had a nack for bringing those into the conservative movement based on their beliefs in conservative principles. With a firm understanding of the need to build a coalition Reagan sought the support of those whom he agreed with, asked them to put aside their differences, and join for the common good of the nation. This is what I ask today.      As many of us understand, there are several competing viewpoints in our party right now. However, the overarching goal of our movement is to quash the liberal agenda. With this being the goal we must put aside our differences and unite under the Republican banner for the good of our nation.

A recent Rasmussen Poll shows that in the state of Florida that the generic Congressional ballot shows a seven point lead for the GOP. However, when you factor in a third party, the so-called "Tea Party" the split among the conservative vote is evident giving the Democrats 36% of the vote with the Tea Party receiving 23% and the GOP garnering 18%. This split would guarantee a myriad of liberals getting elected and would doom our state to a generation of liberal policies http://cbs4.com/national/crist.rubio.senate.2.1373219.html.      It is for these reasons that the push for a third party is obtuse and short sighted when it comes to the end goal of defeating the liberal agenda.

While we certainly do not see eye-to-eye on certain points, I am certain that we all can agree that the alternative of liberal political domination is an end that we can ill afford.    I call upon all of us to take a stand against the flawed approach of third party politics. I understand the frustration that is caused by feeling less than valued by your party. I too have had frustrating moments over the years and can relate to the reactionary desire for a new party. Regardless of the problems we have, they pale in comparison to the strife that would be caused by unchecked liberalism. Please take heed of the warning that Rasmussen offers, for without cooler heads prevailing we are certainly doomed to experience higher taxes, oppressive government regulations, single payer healthcare, and the decline of the United States as the global hegemon. All of these consequences are unacceptable.   JOIN OR DIE!!
